Whoops a Daisy Angel!

We were very excited over the weekend as we were able to play in a lovely thick fall of snow. We all had an extra day in the snow on Monday as the school was closed.
We put on our performance of whoops-a-Daisy Angel through the week and I think everyone would agree that the children did an amazing job of singing and acting. Thank you also to the parents for the wonderful costumes.
On Wednesday we had our whole school Christmas dinner which was great fun and really delicious. We all made a Christmas hat to wear while we were eating it.
On Friday it was Christmas jumper day. Everyone managed to find a different jumper or outfit to wear and we have all done something to support children who are less fortunate than ours.
Please look at the photos on our website of the children dressed up.

Getting Ready for Christmas

We have continued to practise hard for our Christmas Nativity play. Om Monday we will do the dress rehearsal and put on our play for the community.
We had an wonderful trip to the church. Thank you to all the parents who gave up their time to help us. The children have learned a lot about the story of Christmas and we enjoyed singing Away in a Manger with the Reverend Will.
We have been thinking about our topic for next term which will be 'Colours of the world'. The children had some great ideas including finding out about rainbows and light and dark. We will focus on the colour red for one of the weeks next term. If the children have any ideas for this week it would be great to share them.
Our Home Learning for this week is to design a sleigh for Father Christmas. You could use Lego or Duplo or junk modelling or draw a picture or paint. I am looking forward to see all your creations!

Christmas Tree!

It was great to see so many comments on the blog. We all read them together which was fun. It was lovely to hear so many happy comments.
This week we have begun to practise for our play. The children are doing so well singing the songs and they are enjoying singing and dancing to the music during Learning Through Play.
Today is the 1 December. We all put a decoration on the Christmas tree. We have turned our Role Play into a Christmas Home Corner and some of the children helped to decorate it. We have our own class Christmas tree.

The Train Ride

The children have come back from the holidays eager to learn and to share what they did. We have read the story of 'The Train Ride'...
